This month’s plant is a little gem – a dwarf bamboo.  The bright golden foliage shines a light into the dreary winter garden and gives great movement when the wind blows.

Planting tips

Many people are afraid of bamboo, with horror stories of plants marauding across the neigbourhood, Pleioblastus clumps up slowly and can be easily restrained. We’ve teamed this one in our garden with Choisya arizonica ‘Aztec Pearl’ to give a useful dark green foil.

Prefers a shady place to get the best colour.
