Plant of the Month – February – Viburnum
February 6, 2017 by James Cooper
In February you can start to see light at the end of the tunnel, the days are getting longer and at last the snowdrops are showing. This month we have chosen a real star of the early ‘spring’ garden – the Viburnum x bodnantense ‘Dawn’. Whilst this Viburnum can flower from autumn through to spring, it is now that it really comes into its own.
Planting tips
Quite tall but upright, it needs a place at the back of a border but one which can be seen from the house to best appreciate the flowers during the colder times. Also, remember this Viburnum has scented flowers so if you can position one near to a path you use all year round, so much the better.
