An elevated garden in Martlesham with a spectacular view over the creek. We designed this garden three years ago for a customer who we work for on a commercial basis. The brief was fairly straightforward, design a garden which makes best of the view and has a sheltered area for dining. As part of the proposals a thatched gazebo and a built in pizza oven was included.
The thatched roof gazebo makes a great focal point when viewed from the house and also provides a secluded place to enjoy the view.
Beneath the existing Plane tree a generous size terrace was constructed incorporating a brick built pizza oven and a curved wall to give shelter.
The sheltered terrace close to the house. A mix of natural sandstone paving and setts gives a subtle appearance, softened by planting.
Shade for the terrace is provided by the existing Plane tree.
From the terrace the view over the creek is spectacular.
In another part of the garden a hexagonal greenhouse was incorporated with woven willow screen dividing the front and back gardens.
An enticing view through the woven willow gate, past the greenhouse.
