This house is situated right at the edge of Ipswich and is surrounded by a large garden. More than 10 years ago we were contacted by the new owners, a couple we had designed and built their previous garden for, to work our magic again on their new home.
The garden design was phased over 5 years and included a new garden close to the house and orangery as well as a more contemporary style area with a cedar hot tub.
The photographs below were taken during a recent visit to see how the garden has matured over the years and to discuss the next phase of the garden work.
Close to the house, the lower terrace with wide steps reaching the rest of the garden.
The natural sandstone path runs under a pergola, softened by planting
A small circular terrace provides a great place to site a table and chairs and enjoy the view back to the house.
A more contemporary section of the garden close to the cedar hot tub.
View back to the house from the upper terrace. Hot, arid style planting completes the effect.
Luxuriant planting surrounds the house creating a pleasant place to wander.
Soft, muted tones were used for the planting.
At the front of the house, a brick pavior path was constructed with a curved steel arch. This effect gives a pleasant welcome to visitors and sets the tone for the rest of the garden
Along the side of the house a more shady area of planting with a staggered sandstone path leads to the side door.
